Fall trend alert: the return of the cocktail ring

Designer profile: Erika Pena

Born in Puerto Rico, jewelry designer Erika Pena was just 18 years old when her dream took her to New York City. There she studied at Parsons School of Design and worked with the likes of Donna Karan and Josie Natori before returning to her home country.

Erika's journey from New York to Puerto Rico is the inspiration for her jewelry design, which she describes as "a bit rough and edgy like New York, and a bit light and airy like the Caribbean."

Erika's unique flair shines in this "Jules and Stella" necklace, which pairs an agate stone with small pink starfish and teardrop lucite charms. And it comes in one of Fall 2007 hottest shades: deep purple.
